December 14th – Breakfast w/Santa * December 18th Social Meeting
It is that time of year to be thinking about any high school seniors affiliated with the lodge who would like to apply for a lodge scholarship. Students do not necessarily need to be attending college next year, as the
scholarships can be applied to other educational endeavors such as trade schools and training programs where fees are involved. Each scholarship will be worth $1,000.00, and we hope to award as many as five worthy candidates.
Some reminders:
The lodge scholarships are for current high school seniors only. If a student is already enrolled in a university or higher educational program, they can apply to the SDOIA State Scholarship. These students should contact Pam Wright if they have questions about the state scholarship.
Applicants must have an affiliation to the Denver lodge either through direct membership or the membership of parents or grandparents.
The Lodge strongly requests that scholarship applicants, in appreciation for the scholarship they have earned and in support of future scholars, support the lodge by volunteering their time at two to three lodge events in the coming year. The events organized by the lodge help keep the lodge financially solvent, and this solvency helps fund the scholarship program. Your support would be highly recommended and appreciated. Even students who attend a school out-of-state might be able to donate some time during the summer months.
*Note: the scholarship chairman, Bob Giusto, will be responsible for confirming membership applications and keeping track of event volunteers.
Please note that April 15, 2024, is the application deadline for the lodge scholarship, and our awards ceremony is Wednesday, May 15th. Attendance at the awards ceremony is necessary.
The application form is now posted on the Denver Lodge’s website, and it provides all details and information regarding the application requirements. If you have any questions about the application, please contact me directly at jbgiusto@comcast.net.
Thank you,
